BETTY ALBERTA MOSHER CLARK

April 24, 2024

Betty Alberta Mosher was born to Arthur Eugene Mosher and Neva Manilla Mitchell Mosher on August 7, 1930, in Hugo, Colorado.  She was the baby of six children, two boys and four girls.

She passed into the waiting arms of her savior early Wednesday April 10, 2024, at Lincoln Health in Hugo at the age of 93+.

Betty was born and raised at the family home south of Hugo. She attended Hugo schools and graduated from Hugo High School with the Class of 1948. She had a float in the Hugo Homecoming parade last fall honoring her class of 75 years.

Betty married Rex Clark on November 21, 1949, in Santa Fe, NM.  They lived at the Kitty Griffith place southeast of Karval near his sister, Oleta Yoder and her family.  In the spring of 1951, they moved to their present home on Rush Creek northeast of Karval.  To this union four children were born: Connie Lee, Clinton Arthur, Cody Rex, and Cynthia Faye.  Along with raising four kids and being a rancher/farmer’s wife, she supported the Karval School and was always present at the ball games, concerts, plays and other activities.

Betty enjoyed the country life. She always loved tending to the “babies’’. From bottle feeding newborn calves by the stove in the dining room, to baby kittens with a baby doll bottle, baby lambs and baby pigs to a new box of 100 baby chicks. She loved her horses, dogs and growing her garden. Her favorite horse, Queen, was given to her by her brother Ray.   She also liked to bale feed in the fall and run her own baler.

Children in the community gravitated to her to say “Hi”. She looked forward to going to “club” and was a member of the Friendship Circle for 48 years. She also liked the lunches and friendships at ‘Red Hat Ladies’ with family and friends taking her.

Betty loved attending the Lincoln County fair and only missed two in her memorable lifetime.  Once in 1951 because she had just given birth to Connie and the second when she was hospitalized in 2021. At the fair she enjoyed having a cup of coffee and visiting with family and neighbors.

In later years, Betty sat on her front porch swing listening to the birds and watching the animals and wildlife. She enjoyed her family, friends, and neighbors. Betty was loved by young and old alike. She was proud of the family that she and Rex created and delighted in so many other relationships. Her last family gathering was on March 10, 2024, for Rex’s 100th birthday celebration.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Art and Neva Mosher and siblings, Iva Mae, Ray, Don, Belle and Hazel and her husband Rex Clark.

She is survived by her children Connie (Bob) Prather of Loveland, Clinton (Cathleen) Clark of Karval, Cody (Dianne) Clark of Karval and Cynthia (Larry) Leonard of Karval. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Tanya, Lann, Levi, Jennifer, Zane, Jamie, Jake, Amanda, Caleb, Ashley, Chelsey, Sarah, Abigail, Hannah, and Gracie and 31 great-grandchildren. Two Sisters-in-laws, Wilma Mosher and Betty K Clark also survive.
